Marriage over for Peaches Geldof

Peaches Geldof and her singer husband Max Drummey are to divorce after six months, the couple have announced.

The 19-year-old daughter of Live Aid chief Bob Geldof married Mr Drummey, 24, in Las Vegas last August just one month after meeting.

The couple said the split was both mutual and amicable, and there was no one else involved.

In a joint statement they added they were looking forward "to a future as good friends".

The statement said: "After much soul-searching we have made the mutual decision to end our marriage and have agreed to go our separate ways.

"Our parting is amicable and both of us still respect and care about each other immensely.

"There were no other people involved in this decision and we both look forward to a future as good friends."

A spokeswoman for Peaches Geldof said she would continue to split her time between New York and London on various media and fashion projects, while Mr Drummey will be continuing his music with his band Chester French.

"There will be no further comment," the spokeswoman said.
